Our Karnataka Black Pepper & Sea Salt crisps are made using the finest local potatoes combined with carefully sourced pepper from the Western Ghats in Southern India. The pepper we use is the Tellicherry variety, considered to be the world’s very finest. The Faiz family grow Tellicherry Peppers on their spice plantation on the edge of the Western Ghats in southern India. The peppers grow up tall poles and provide the perfect shade that is required for the coffee that is also grown on the estate. Tellicherry peppercorns are left on the vine for longer than normal and picked only just before they ripen so that they develop the distinctively deep, rich and robust flavor that you can taste in our crisps. These potato chips had gently curving shapes with a strong yellow color, plus a heavy smattering of seasoning bits, most of them black, on the surfaces. It’s the world’s finest Tellicherry pepper that gives this crisp its distinctively deep, rich and robust flavor.
