Panko Breadcrumb: Panko breadcrumbs are made from grinding yeast-risen bread, which is baked using electric current instead of heat. The crusts are removed and the bread is broken down into large flakes (rather than tiny crumbs) before being completely dried. This type of bread has no crust; instead, the entire loaf consists of the soft and airy bread center. It adds a light crispy texture to coated items and it is frequently used as top crusting, coating, mix-in, extender, and stuffing. The bread used for these crumbs was specially baked and ground and we picked only the finest crumb slivers. They also absorb less oil when fried when compared to other breadcrumbs – giving you a lighter coating and enhancing the flavor of the dish rather than hiding it!
Katsu Sauce: Katsu Sauce is tangy, sweet and full of flavor, Meishi Katsu Sauce is a classic! This sauce is the traditional Japanese accompaniment for tonkatsu a japanese-style breaded pork cutlets. This delicious sauce is perfect for everything from traditional tonkatsu to country-fried steak.
Soy Sauce: Our Meishi Soy sauce is naturally brewed from wheat, soybeans, water and salt, a process that takes months, allowing its rich, complex and mellow flavor to develop. Brewed (or “naturally brewed”) soy sauce is made from a special fermentation process. It is the perfect sauce for cooking or as a table-top seasoning. It’s also suitable for all kinds of dishes. Try our Meishi Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce with your favourites burgers and salads. This unique condiment adds a mellow flavor and a rich umami quality to all kinds of foods. Ideal for soups, salad, vegetable sauces and oriental cooking.
