Hoisin Sauce is a Cantonese invention that is incredibly popular. Paneer in Hoisin Sauce is our take on the popular street foods of Macau, Hong Kong and Shanghai. This sweet and savoury umami bomb is well worth trying and delighting your family with especially on a weekend.
1. Create a marinade using a tablespoon of sesame oil, hung curd, hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Marinate the cubed paneer. Let it rest.
2. In a deep bottom pan, take 4 tablespoons of sesame oil. On a medium heat, let it bubble, then add the spring onion bulbs, greens, ginger garlic paste and red chillies. Cook off until well combined and it gives out a heady aroma.
3. Add the marinated paneer. Cook well. If necessary add more Meishi Hoisin Sauce and Soy Sauce.
4. Serve steaming hot with white rice.
